KETHI’S EVENT FOR THE INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

On Saturday 25 November 2023, in the context of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family in cooperation with the Research Centre for Gender  Equality organized an event at Syntagma Square, aimed at informing and raising the people awareness on issues of prevention and response to incidents of violence and abuse of women. The Minister and the Deputy Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Mrs. Sophia Zacharaki and Mrs. Maria Alexandra Kefala, the Secretary General for Equality and Human Rights, Mrs. Zefi Dimadama and the Vice President of the Board of KETHI, Mrs. Athanasia Xepapadakou, had the opportunity to talk to the people, about the measures and policies to eliminate violence against women adopted by the Greek State and to give the message "Talk to us", urging women to break the silence, to ask for help from the State and its services and not to be afraid to report any form of abuse they suffer, because they are not alone. The event was attended by: Alexandopoulou Christina, Maria Syregela, Elena Kountoura, Pyrros Prodromos, Chrissavgi Atsidakou as well as representatives of women's organizations and civil society.
